Kim Tells All

Because it's Wednesday.  Because I'm sure you're missing Survivor just like me.  Because inquiring minds really do want to know.  Because I promised.  Here it is!  Kim tells ALL!  Ok, so she's not exactly telling ALL but today she's answering a few of the questions YOU asked!  Here goes...

Kim what animal are you?

You know, I can't decide. I'm ever evolving:) Kangaroo, ostrich, fox. Maybe I need an animal expert to tell me!

What are some of the funny quirky things you did with your castmates to pass the time?

We did a "sound orchestra" where everyone makes a different sound at the same time, and I was always.. "boing...... boing...." It was funny at the time. Chelsea and I just got a kick out of laughing at everyone else:)

What are some of your favorite moments from the show that didn't make the edit?

Chelsea and I started this "There's that one" thing, that always cracked me up. You can hear her say it right as we are getting back from voting out Tarzan.

Getting to really know everyone was awesome, and we never see any of that. We would lay around for hours laughing, crying, and giving advice to each other about jobs, friends, and men. It's what made us all so tight!

Did it take a long time for you and Kat to make up and be great friends?

Not really, We hugged it out that night when I got back to Ponderosa, I really do love Kat.

Do you have a boyfriend?

Si. His nickname is Abs.

What is your College degree in?

Communication. My favorite subject was Non-Verbal communication;)

What was your hardest day on the island?

The days the balls dropped, ha! That was my hardest physical day. I always felt like my body turned a corner after that day, but I remember thinking I might fall down.

You mentioned wanting to take some trips.  What are some of the places at the top of your list?

Costa Rica, I've been wanting to surf... Paris (I've never been), and I'm just looking forward to going some places in the good old US I've never been (Laguna, Chicago, Scotsdale... just to see friends)!

I love your style!  Where do you primarily shop for clothes?

Hmmm, everywhere. Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, J Crew, I like to be comfortable:)

Which challenge was the toughest physically?

Pizza day, that digging deal. It lasted like 6 hours!
Would you ever team up with Chelsea to do the Amazing Race?

Hell yes. I'm working on that ;)

I'm sure the Survivor "journey" has meant many different things to those of us that have traveled through it with Kim over the past year.  I know there have been several unforgettable moments for me along the way.  One thing I know for sure is I now have a very special place in my heart reserved for a little Kitten Swag.

When I met Kat for the first time last Summer she made quite the impression.  America saw on their big screen what I watched with my own two eyes as she practically tackled Rob and left us all laughing uncontrollably.  Selfishly I loved her from the moment she picked Kim and I to hang out with them for the afternoon.  I would have done just about anything to get to spend a little more time with my sister that day and she made it possible.  To be honest that would have been enough for me to put Kat in the "I'll never forget you" category.  But that wasn't the end of it.  Kat has become one of the people that we all can't help but love.  Every time we have a chance to be around her we are left smiling and looking forward to the next time our paths will cross.

And then came the icing on the cake, her unforgettable speech during the final episode of Survivor.  To see the girl who so many had categorized as immature and naive deliver one of the most eloquent statements on forgiveness I have ever heard left me in tears and sealed the deal...Kat's family.

So HOORAY for family visits!  Kat is here and she definitely makes everything a little more fun.  I was lucky enough to get to pick her up from the airport and deliver her to the Taco Cabana grand opening where Kim was hanging out...

While we are obviously big fans of Kat it's also ridiculously clear we are big fans of the TC...

They gave us a feast fit for 50 (too bad we only had 5)...

My bank statement and their drive thru are really good friends...

Carter also got a taste of the spotlight when she was interviewed about her love of bean and cheese tacos (that's my girl)...

Later that night we headed out to catch Bob Schneider...

Bryan (aka Mr. Big Shot) had gotten us a booth (he's kind of a big deal)...

The next morning Kim and Kat made Carter's day when they paid a visit to her Kindergarten class...

Kim talked about trying things that are hard and Kat talked about forgiving your friends when they hurt your feelings ie voting you off the island (love that girl)...

The kids got to feel and shake a few coconuts and then they presented the girls with some books that had made them.  Adorable...

These party animals are headed to South Texas for the rest of the weekend but we are so glad they spent a little time with us first...

Kat you're precious and we couldn't love you more.  So glad you're part of the fam!

What Richard Said

Quite a few "tributes" to Kim have been popping up around the internet but here are a couple of my favorites...

I also think this one is great (even if I can't read the subtitles :).  And, just for the record, Kim is definitely not boring...

Last but not least I ran across this red carpet interview from the night of the finale.  I was so glad that this guy brought up a moment the viewers at home didn't get to see.  During one of the commercial breaks for the Live Reunion Show Richard Hatch told Jeff that he thought Kim was one of the best to ever play the game.  You know I totally agree Richard but it was still pretty amazing to hear you say it!!

Making the Rounds

One week in and my observation would be that the life of the "Sole Survivor" is just a tad bit busier than usual.  My first clue was waking up to find a full page spread on Kim in the Newspaper...

She also made the rounds at the local News station.  First a live interview Wednesday afternoon...

Followed by a visit to "Great Day SA" (where another fellow Survivor Rita made an appearance as well)...

She's been a busy lady but that didn't keep her from hopping on a plane bright and early Saturday morning to head to Charlotte for a little Nascar fun...

Kim was a judge for the burnout competition along with this guy who you just might recognize (starts with a "C" and rhymes with Dolby)...

It's been a fun first week in the life of the newest "Sole Survivor" and I'm sure there is a lot more where that came from!  Later this week some never before seen footage (aka Kim's day 40 pics) and your questions answered.  Stay tuned!
